Plaid Fox turns traditional resale on it's head! Matt and Dawn Macek, two of the founders, helped create this brand-new resale model. Their goals? First, to make selling clothes more profitable for the client. Second, to make it easy, without the hassles of online platforms. The inspiration finally came from Finland where rent-a-rack stores are common, and recycling clothes is a way of life. Plaid Fox was born!

Our Story
Matt and Dawn’s story begins like the best partnerships often do—with a shared passion and complementary expertise. Matt, a Minnesotan with a wealth of experience working for the largest resale company in the U.S., had spent years immersed in the world of "buy, sell, trade." He understood the industry inside and out, yet he often imagined a better way—a model that could blend efficiency with a personal touch.​
Dawn, a proud Texan, brought her own unique flair to the table. With a background in traditional retail clothing, she had a sharp eye for quality and a love for treasure hunting. Her weekends were often spent wandering antique malls and resale shops, uncovering hidden gems and swooning over second-hand designer handbags.​Their paths crossed in Texas, where they decided to make their home—and eventually, their dream business.
Over cups of coffee and countless brainstorming sessions, Matt and Dawn found themselves envisioning a concept that could revolutionize the resale experience. They wanted to address the inefficiencies Matt had witnessed in large chain operations and create a more accessible, client-focused alternative.​Enter Plaid Fox, the couple's collaborative effort to bring the best of both worlds together.
